LONDON:A European pharmaceutical company is to stop selling the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra after a panel of European health professionals revealed they were unsure about whether it is a safe use of its Viagra.

The MHRA's European Commission is to stop selling the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra after the panel revealed it had taken a black box warning into consideration.

Viagra is the brand name for the male impotence drug sildenafil, which treats erectile dysfunction.

The MHRA said Viagra was "associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events including stroke, particularly in men with pre-existing cardiovascular disease".
